WebVideoPromoter: YouTube Honors - You Want Them, We Got Them

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Many of you all know about and should be desiring the coveted YouTube honors with your videos, if you don’t know what honors are let me share with you. If you do know about YouTube Honors, then read on to next paragraph. Honors are quite simple. Its based on various merits like Most Views, Most Discussed (Comments), Most Responses (Video Responses), Top Favorited, and Top Rated. Then these honors are based on various timetables like Today, This Week, This Month, and All Time. Since YouTube is heavily trafficked, it sometimes takes a while to updated its view counts and honors, so the TODAY count is actually covering videos that were uploaded within the last 48hrs. These honors are broken up by categories (Comedy, Music, People & Blogs, and more) with ALL covering the top overall categories. Here’s some samples links to look at:

These are coveted areas to be in because it brings you a lot of natural views and attention (good and bad). They could quite possibly be the 2nd to 3rd most visited parts of YouTube. This is where you want your video placed so that it gets the most amount of views quickly.

YouTube has been making changes to their system for views metrics; the last we noticed was late spring/early summer this year. A lot of YouTubers (both individuals and groups selling views) were affected badly and a lot fell off of the honors list and were unable to get back on. We were also affected, but quickly worked on improving our system. After a lot of work we are getting videos with honors again, and even contacted by our competitors about our system because many of them are still unable to get Honors.

Many new prospect clients and those of you signing up to our newsletters ask why our prices are higher then the others (our competitors). Well, we’d like to set the records straight. They DO NOT bring honors and we’ve tested them out. We DO bring honors because of our solid system and we’re constantly improve our system to justify our prices. Cheap views won’t mean anything if they just inflate your view count and don’t get you on the Honors Charts.

The clients who have used our services are very pleased with our results, because they are getting honors; 12k views can translate to 30K and even 50K views, 30K views can translate to 70k and even 90k, and 450K to 700K and 900K views. They are all returning customers with their new videos.

Here’s where the fine print comes in, we DO GUARANTEE our views within 48hrs (packages 150k and under) and we still DO NOT guarantee honors. We have 2 reasons why we do no guarantee honors:

  • Honors are based on how many view other YouTube videos get at that moment, so honors are relative for that time which greatly varies in views.
  • YouTube can change their system for counting views at any time without notice and if our system is affected we will notice it with our promotions during that time. We will start informing new orders that there might be some changes that we’ve noticed affecting getting honors… this is out of our hands but we’re constantly being aware.

So in short, right now we are bringing HONORS to your videos, just cannot guarantee them. Contact us and lets talk more.

YouTube Annotation - Check Out the Possibilities of Users Making Choices

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

A new feature recently introduced by YouTube has got the community buzzing. Known as Annotation, it gives video makers the ability to turn their creation into an interactive adventure. Not only that, but users can also narrate their videos, a la, Pop Up Video. The possibilities here are practically endless as examples posted on YouTube illustrate.

While it is likely that the full range of this new feature won’t be realized for weeks or even months into the future, the ability for users to now interact with a YouTube video is the most promising feature here. Anyone who grew up in the 1980’s remembers the fun and excitement of Choose Your Own Adventure books, now people from all around the world can create a video with multiple endings. There are already a host of these videos on YouTube, such as the Magic Card Trick and the Interactive Shell Game . Of course, this is only the tip of the iceberg. The possibility of stories with dozens or even hundreds of choices could be on the horizon.

For those users who want to upload a video of an adventure they had, the Annotation feature allows them to add in comments throughout the video, just like the popular Pop Up Video series from VH-1 from the 90’s. YouTuber’s are already taking advantage of this ability to communicate with viewers in whole new ways, as seen by My 22nd Skydive video. Once your annotations have been added to your video, users have the choice of watching/using them or turning them off if they simply want to enjoy your video.

Our friend’s at Force Theory Productions are showcasing their use of Annotations and developing a site with a clever URL: www.YouChoo.se . YouChoo.se is creating nonlinear films using live action and gaming story lines. You can see an example of their work right now on YouTube where they give you control of your fate using Godfather scenes. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seHBKTOwiSE

YouChoo.se weren’t the only folks to predict the coming of Annotation technology. Popular YouTube.com user Mr. Safety from SMP Films has been creating Choose Your Own Adventure style video series for months now before YouTube release the Annotation feature. It is thrilling to think of what YouTube users like Mr. Safety and the fans he’s spawned can do now that this technology is readily available.
